Castile soap is an amazingly versatile vegetable-based soap that’s made free of animal fats and synthetic ingredients.
This natural, nontoxic, biodegradable soap was made in the Mediterranean area before its use spread to Europe.
Traditionally, castile soap was made of olive oil. It gets its name from the Castile region of Spain.
All-purpose Castile Soap is ideal for most cleaning tasks—they are gentle enough to use in the shower yet concentrated enough to clean about everything that’s dirty. Many fabulous uses such as: bathing, doing the dishes, while camping, household cleaning, as a dog shampoo and for stain removal.
Here are 8 ways to use it at home:
Dish Soap: Mix 1 part castile soap with 10-part water
All-purpose cleaner: Warm 1qt water and add 1/4 cup castile soap. Mix and pour into a spray bottle.
Face/Body wash: 2-3 drops castile soap to wet hands and rub to lather. Apply on face and body. Rinse well.
Shave lather: Wet your hands and skin, add 4-5 drops of Castile Soap to your hands and rub until foamy.
Produce Rinse: Combine 1tbp Castile soap with 1 gal water. Swish the produce around for 1 minute and then transfer to a towel to dry.
Laundry Soap: Add 1 cup for washing clothes in machine.
Fabric Cleaner: 1 cup water, 1/8 cup of our Castile Soap, and 1/2 tsp of baking soda. Combine ingredients in a spray bottle, spray onto fabric, scrub spot with sponge, and rinse with clean water, blot dry.
Facial Cleanser: 1/2 cup Castile Soap, 1/4 Distilled water, 1/2 lemon juice.
Combine ingredients in a bottle with pump. Wet your hands, gently rub your face. Rinse well.
